Research and interview notes, card files, correspondence, clippings, outlines, drafts, photos, etc. for articles, jokes, short stories, plays, novels and books on celebrities, entertainment, travel and humor. Includes 154 notebooks with clippings of Wilson's Broadway entertainment column for the N.Y. Post, "It happened last night" (Oct. 1942-Apr. 1983); articles, clippings, etc. on annual entertainment awards such as the Oscars, Tonys, etc. (ca. 1961-1983), extensive files on individual celebrities (notes, articles, clippings, letters, etc.) arranged alphabetically by subject (e.g., Woody Allen, Sammy Davis, Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Debbie Reynolds, Elizabeth Taylor, Mike Todd and many others); and celebrity photographs. Also contains research material, correspondence and drafts for Wilson's book Sinatra (1976).

The son of italian immigrants, Frank Sinatra began singing and doing impersonations in school which led to his future career as singer with the Hoboken Four in 1935. The quartet broke up in 1936 and Frank started working his way through the music industry until he finally got his big break in 1940. He would become one of Hollywood's leading men for the next two decades and a constant music hall draw after that until very close to the day he died in 1998.
